A New Years Resolution

Well at least it is still January, and what an eventful start to the year it has been......

Rather a lot of snow has fallen, enough to have us snowed in for 10 days. We have had beautiful views and walks, fun playtimes and wonderful help and company from fantastic neighbours. It has been exciting, challenging and cold very very cold. We have been OK on food supplies, but have had periods of no water supply due to ice in pumps and pipes, and have run very low on the wood supplies. We have now escaped on day 10, which involved men at working digging out two tracks up the driveway.

Anyway as the title hints writing a blog is new to me and I resolved a while ago that I would start writing one this new year.

Choosing a Name

A lot of idle thinking has been done over a name for my blog, it had to be some thing which was very me, but not any version of my name, I also wanted it to reflect my new found interests and new style of living after our move to the country and my new life at home. And so the crocheted chicken appeared in my head, and I liked it, it was silly, it recognised two very important new additions in my life (not important like children, but things I am very pleased to have discovered :-)).
